ENGLAND - DOVER

The famous 'white cliffs' show the way to the harbor in Dover which is only 28km from France. Nowadays several million passengers pass through and are warmly welcomed. This wasn't always the case as Dover has also been the beginning of many invasions: the Romans with 80 ships, later Germanic tribes and finally the Normans in October 1066 with William the Conqueror. He laid the foundation stone of Dover Castle.

From the castle you get a wonderful view of the harbor and town.

Tip: don't only drive through - Dover is also worth at least a look round.
