JAPAN

Many words spring to mind when talking about Japan: Zen philosophy, kyodo, archery, karate, the tea ceremony, but above all seriousness and attention which the Japanese dedicate to one another and visitors. If you exchange visiting cards in Europe a quick glance normally checks that you have understood the name right. A Japanese person on the other hand reads each line and expects the same from their business partner. From Tokyo you can travel by train or bus to Fujisan. You do, however, need a bit of luck to see the mountain free of cloud.

The bus goes quite a long way up the hill, but you can walk the last kilometers to the top. Going on the underground in Tokyo is an adventure: from which of the machines do the tickets appear for each of the rival underground lines? You can relax in Kamakura by the sea, an hour from Tokyo by train.

Tip: in Kamakura there is a cave with a spring where according to tradition you should wash a coin. If you do then you are promised many riches. I found several hundred Yen in the street later ... .
