NEW ZEALAND - NORTH ISLAND

In the northern half of New Zealand you will find close to Rotorua the Wai-O-Tapi an area full of volcanic activities like hot springs and coloured mineral lakes. Coromandel in the North is the area of the rain forests, which become so typical for New Zealand and also the huge Kauri trees are located here. And for those who tried success less to discover kingfishers for many years here you will find those hunting fishes and small mussels just at the coast.
 
Tipp: The small rails in Coromandel which were originally constructed to transport clay to a pottery is also open to transport tourist high above to the rain forests.
