METROPOLIS: BUDAPEST
The wide flowing Danube travels through the city like a silver thread and splits hilly Buda from flat Pest. The Hungarian capital Budapest has only been called this for 130 years - until 1872 Buda, Pest and Obuda were independent towns. The most best known sight in Budapest is the Fisherman's Bastion where you have a wonderful view of Budapest. It was only built at the beginning of the last century. | Tip: Once you've scaled the 'Buda' hill there are many lovely cafes like in Vienna. |
